Helsinki Floorball Cup 6.-8.1.2017 and Pass The Floorball -campaign
Arena Center organizes Finland’s biggest floorball tournament, Helsinki Floorball Cup, already for the 14th time. The tournament will be held in connection with the Pass The Floorball -campaign, in which world champions Tero Tiitu and Miko Kailiala are taking part in.
The Pass The Floorball -campaign is organized by Helsinki Floorball Cup and Arena Center in cooperation with the Finnish Floorball Federation and the International Floorball Federation.
The aim of the campaign is to emphasize respecting others. Respect comes from openness, honesty, listening, good behavior and fairness. Everyone including players, coaches, referees and supporters can respect others and create a better game and an operational environment.
The three-day Helsinki Floorball Cup 2017 will gather around 20.000 participants from five different countries. By bringing the Pass The Floorball -campaign to this event, we are able to create a better sporting event by respecting others. We are also able to share a message of respect, which every player, coach, referee and supporter can take back to their homes, schools and friends.
Whether it is about top level floorball’s or simply floorball as a hobby, Tero Tiitu sees that mutual respect is the foundation of everything.
- Whether it is the men's national team or one of the youngest junior teams participating in the HFC, there are always different kinds of personalities and different types of players. Each person is unique in their own way and that person brings their own important addition to the team. Trust and the opportunity to be yourself are created through mutual respect, so that everyone is having fun and the games will go well, Tiitu states.
In each game, one player from both teams is chosen as the Respect-player who has shown exemplary respect towards others. Because being an example is the best way to reinforce an important cause, the campaign is open for all players, coaches, referees and supporters.

Between two and three pm on Saturday 7th of January, Miko Kailiala and Tero Tiitu are visiting Helsinki Floorball Cup tournament at Arena Center Myllypuro. They will share their experiences with the participants of the tournament.
On the campaign’s website, floorball world champions Miko Kailiala and Petri Kettunen give their view how important it is to respect others in floorball from player's and coach's perspective. In turn, Finnish Floorball Federation’s Head of Referees Jukka Parviainen and supporter Merja-Leena Turunen bring up how the respect towards others appears from a referee's and a supporter's point of view.
